The big move from one to two

Hi little diary, I definitely missed blogging but also feel a little disconnected since my last entry. I am slowly cathing up from being away from my blog.

Alhamdulillah.
On 31.01.2013, we’ve expanded our house by another ‘two feet’, the birth of our handsome baby boy; Qaleef Emran weighed 8.84 lbs (4.01 kg) in the afternoon. There is a new branch on the family tree other than Qaseh Edora, our first child. A new year 2013 is a new beginning for us with our second child, syukur Alhamdulillah he arrived safely and warmly..

Welcoming a new sibling was not easy, the transition from one child to two was quite hard-hitting … Jealousy, tantrums and strife proved that welcoming the second baby brought the impact to Qaseh. On the early days when we (baby & I) were home, she showed her conflicting emotions for the baby. She loved to draw our attention at most time mainly when the baby’s mood is cranky, and Daddy and I were soothing the baby. Yes, I know regression and jealousy is very common but it’s easier said than done, end up, mummy jadi panik and I felt like Qaseh tried to stay away from me :’(

The best thing that I did was spent MORE one-on-one time with her, during feeding and playing time. Save for a few extra tantrums she was so much better than we expected. Alhamdulillah, it is only a matter of time.. Sekarang Qaseh dah okay sangat dengan baby. Everynight she will lend her hands by ushering little baby to bedroom and she is mostly helpful.  The best moment is when the little baby is given hugs and kisses from his big sister..

Having this second baby undeniably alter my daily life hence I have to put down my daily routine, at least for the first few months. Full hands and super hectic yet having a sweet small baby (again!!) is truly awesome! Besides from the whole not sleeping at night part, of course. ;)   It’s so hard to put that feeling into words… and I know the hard times will pass and that they'll grow so fast. I love being a mother of two.
Two is an adjustment and one day it will just click..... ;)

Till then…

A little update

Alhamdulillah.

The little baby moves to 26 weeks. The belly bump is getting larger and the Super Mommy is getting bigger ;)
Syukur, Super Mommy is just doing fine and in good health.
Heartburn takes place everyday and it’s really making me tense. I feel like the stomach acids are burning up and setting fire to my chest  ;(
Leg cramps just started last night …ya ya, I know it’s quite common during pregnancy..  T_T
I feel like carrying a ‘karate kid’ ;) the baby is actually practicing all kinds of ‘kicking’ I believe. The kicking become much more powerful day after day.. ;)
Super Mommy and Daddy have done the latest pregnancy check-up by last week; syukur alhamdulillah the baby is well, get bigger and stronger. We have done the detail- scanning as well.
Super Mommy is losing her appetite, have to force myself to eat everyday but happily I have a  super husband who knows how to keep me smiling by persuaded me to eat.. Love you husband.
I am having a lot of cramping lately; it started by last 2weeks, the doctor said it’s just one of those things which happen when a baby is growing in the belly.  Fortunately, there are no unusual signs or bleeding….. InsyaAllah, +/- another 103 days to go.

Qaseh is 20 months young at present ;) she just started to communicate now, she knows to state her own name, able to run, always want to go upstairs by herself, can kick a ball too, love to eat rice on her own, tak nak suap-suap dah sekarang ni…she knows where to put all the make-up things on her face.so clever…habis mekap mummy  ^__^
She has a very strong attachment to me, she seems like don’t want to share me with anyone, including Daddy .. errk! Kesian daddy...
Slowly I am preparing her for the birth of the new baby, dengan penuh harapan she does not feel like a competition with her sibling, InsyaAllah, we will try our best to give the best attention that we have so she may not feel left out……. Mommy promise, sayang… ^__^      Mommy and daddy are always tell her that, the new baby will not change everything…we are trying to keep her daily’s routine as normal as possible, selalu encourage Qaseh’s connection to the baby, by reffering to the belly as her ‘adik’ but she seems macam tak tahu lagi… heheh..
I still can’t dream up,  how la ‘the homecoming’ will come about bila dah deliver baby nanti, of course it is not like the day when we brought Qaseh at home. Mesti Qaseh pelik and not understand why mommy is lying in bed with the baby…. T___T   honestly, it’s not easy, Qaseh…

Till then, bye

Co-sleeping with baby

We are thinking to have a baby cot for Qaseh since I am willing to train her to sleep in her own bed. Sleeping with baby is a personal choice. Most parents throughout the world sleep with their infants and this is become our culture. Since Qaseh is an easy-sleeper dan pattern tidur pun dah berubah, I am wishing to make a sidecar-arrangement where baby cot will be placed straight up against our bed.

There is no right or wrong place for our baby to sleep. Some people said, some babies do not like to sleep in the cot I but believe it all depends on how we teach our baby. And for me, it doesn’t mean that you are a bad parent if you don't sleep with your baby.

Keputusan belum lagi dibuat samada playpen or baby cot.

Each of them will have different weight capacity. Naturally, baby cot is much sturdier compared to playpen and it can be used longer. Banyak pro & con, will decide later.

End.

Phlegm & Infant

Qaseh is under the weather for few days already. Ada phlegm and mild cough but no wheezing sound. She has been referred to pediatrician for few times, X-Ray has been done and Alhamdulillah, kata pediatrician lung Qaseh clear & her lung is in a fine condition. Her breathing is not very noisy, no wheezing sound cuma berkahak sahaja. When we consulted with pediatrician, no medication has been given and pediatrician advised to let it heal by itself. Tapi I am so worried because phlegm may cause bronkitis atau brochospasm.
So far, she does not refuse on feeding and though her feeding is not affected, but still we brought her and seek for medical advice, pediatrician says its normal and this kind of heavy breathing will go away after sometime. Some pediatrician said, the sounds are not phlegm but the sound was due to salur pernafasan yang sempit, so, will produce the sound. He keeps reassuring me that once Qaseh grows older, the sound will go away.
Hurm. Bila google through internet, ramai yang suggest untuk bagi honey to infants and they said it’s really works. The truth is honey should never be given to a child under the age of 12 months old! It may cause botulism poisoning and it is really unsafe.
Some people advised to put ‘kunyit’ dengan cara gosok kunyit pada tempat yang kasar then apply it on the baby’s chest. I will try it tonight. Hopefully berkesan. InsyaAllah.
